Co-curricular QIP Ashwin Shimoga

Effectiveness of the Co curricular actvities at Bhadravati 2 Cluster .

Co curricular actvities are conducted at Cluster level every month to increase the participation of children and to provide a platform for developing and improving creative xpression.

Before binging chldren to participate at cluster level the shools are supposed to conduct the program at the school level and make all the students participate and then select 10 students for Cluster level.

Though the program had this philosophy behind, in practice schools either selected 10 students to participate at cluster level or the school level program was symptomatically done.

The CRP who felt that the Co curricular actvities should be implemented with the true spirit took up the project.

This dream wish of the Crp resulted in such a paradigm , in a sense that it was not only that schools meaningfuly organised the Co curricular actvities but also few school children took the responsibility of managing the programs and displayed the true spirit behind this program. The spirit went beyond the scope of the program and children could involve themselves in leading 32 out of school children to enroll into school. Such children were not only enrolled but were assisted in their learning process by these young leaders and escorted to school and back home. Few schools which were indifferent towards conducting Co curricular activities eventually resulted in they themselves organising and hosting the Co curricular activities at the cluster level.

What were the efforts those brought these changes? Which magic wand did create these mini leaders of change? What made the SDMC's involve in this process and continue to be own the school?

CRP made a categorization of the school based on the level of participation in Co curricular actvities as most initiative, and less active schools.

To those schools which were indifferent HM's, Teachers, SDMC's and scool children were met collectively and seperately and their suggestions and opinions were collected regarding improvement of the program .

The Meena team members of the school were adressed separately and their involvement was sought to motivate other students to participate in the CCA.

Where the HM's were indifferent and less involved there teachers were identified and motivated to take the lead.

Where the schools showed less initiative in involving and organising the progarm SDMC's were consulted and involved to participate and coach the children in various CCA.

Where parents involvement was less, children were motivated through Meena club to persuade their and other children's parents to come and participate in the CCA.

Eventually the leadership quality of the Meena club members was so well displayed that they could just under the guidance of their teachers could organise and manage the program effectively.

32 out of school children were enrolled by the Meena club but also such children were regularly assisted by the Meena club members to school and back home . The regularity of attendance of such children were thus ensured. Such children were assisted in accelerating their learning process by the Meena club members during holidays .

Thus every small attempts lead on the path of true philosophy of conducting the CCA.
