Listening to an audio story and retelling it with a twist

Objectives:-

1. To enhance students’ listening skills and thereby improve their comprehension.

2.To encourage students to think creatively.

3.To promote collaborative working.

4.To ensure that students listen to each other’s story and thus widen their knowledge.

5.To reduce inhibitions in students and help them to express their thoughts.

Estimated Time:-

Approximately 45 minutes for a class consisting of 8 groups with 5-6 students in each group

(Time may vary depending upon the class strength)

Materials/ Resources needed:-

• The audio story ‘The Mango tree’ (other such stories can be used)

Prerequisites/Instructions, if any :-

• Ask the students to listen to the story attentively.
