Action items to take program forward
The following actions are needed to take program forward
- State Resource Group
- District Resource Group
- District technology support
- District workshop preparation
- District workshop implementation
- Plan for next academic year
State Resource Group (SRG)
SRG will need to be set-up to coordinate and support the district workshops. It will have members as teachers and teacher educators to provide guidance to the district programs. It will have both academic and technology expertise. It will have following responsibilities
- provide academic and technology support district resource groups to conduct the district training, over phone, video-conference (gtalk), email etc
- create google forms for participant information, participant feedback
- collate participant feedback for improvement of program
- District ICT Lab set-up
- Resource materials for workshop, Kalpavriksha DVDs
District Resource Group (DRG)
Each district will have a DRG for the subjects being covered in the program. The MRPs trained from the district could be members of the DRG. Each DRG should have one of the teachers as the facilitator of DRG
District technology support group (DTSG)
- Each district should have identified team (comprising of MIS coordinator and teachers) who will provide technology support to teachers, including Hardware, networking, software support.
- Identified teachers can be trained on technology support from each district to create the 'Teachers group'
District workshop preparation
Following are required to be in place for effective district training of teachers
- 5 MRPs per subject per district. Additional MRPs can be identified from the teachers being trained, to expand the MRP pool
- ICT Lab
- Identify suitable BEd., DEd, Engineering college labs or setup Lab in DIET, with 30 computers, which can be purchased or sourced from other institutions
- UBUNTU (Kalpavriksha) installation on all computers
- Internet connectivity (minimum 8 MBPS)
- One teacher per computer in training. Do not have 2 or more teachers per computer
- Encourage teachers to bring their personal laptops
- Resource handout for each teacher
- Ubuntu DVD (Kalpavriksha) for each teacher may be needed to be given, so that they can install on their personal / home computers also
- Digital Resource folder created in the digital content workshops to be made available to all teachers and enriched in the district workshops
District workshop implementation
In each workshop, the MRPs will have to do following:
- cover the district 5 day agenda for training, as per the context and prior teacher knowledge
- add teachers to the virtual community (STF google group, Telegram phone group)
- prepare and share in the community, workshop reports and photos
- prepare and share Kalpavriksha (custom Ubuntu) DVD copies for the teachers
- conduct video conference with SRG and with other districts
- tech support including for installation in district labs and teacher laptops
- collect participant feedback (google form) on last day
School support Activities
- ensure one projector in each school
- ensure one laptop in each school
- circular that RMSA school grant can be used to purchase laptop and projector in each school
- exposure visit to Karnataka and Kerala (district programs)
- interest free loan to teachers for purchasing laptops
Plan for next academic year

- Complete coverage of Maths and Science teachers across the state
