Read out a set of 10 phrases and simple sentences that describe outline sketches given to students in a worksheet. As each phrase/sentence is read, ask each student to colour the corresponding sketch in one or two specified colours. Through this activity the facilitator can check  the students' ability to listen to the words, comprehend, and associate them with corresponding images. The activity can be conducted in English and Kannada

The pictures below were printed on strips of paper with each strip having a pair of pictures. Each child was given one such strip and a crayon. The facilitator read out a set of 12 phrases in both Kannada and English that described specific objects in the different pictures given to the students. The students had to carefully listen to the phrases and colour the relevant object in their respective pictures. Each picture had one descriptive phrase in Kannada and English.
