Activity - Presentation and discussion on Karnataka experience with Panchayats
Karnataka has been a pioneering state in implementing panchayati raj. The late Dr Abdul Nasseer Sab, as the Minster for Panchayati Raj, Government of Karnataka, played a very important role in promoting meaningful local governance in the state. Karnataka devolved most of the activities/authority to panchayats. Karnataka also is one of the few states that has 59% reservation for women to panchayat seats.
