Cascade District Workshops Hindi 2015-16

Ten districts will be covered this year - Bengaluru Urban, Chitradurga, Chikkaballapur, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi. Dharwad, Belgavi – Chikkodi, Dharwad,Raichur, Koppal and Yadgir

Focus areas for the Hindi District Cascade Workshops उद्देश्य

1. Understand the Internet as a resource repository for Hindi language teaching and other professional and personal needs
2. Discuss second language learning aims, challenges and approaches. Access resources in Hindi and read and discuss these
3. Access resources and discuss about Hindi language teaching in Indian / Karnataka context (multi-lingual, second language)
4. Learn different digital methods and connection to language teaching learning
5. Creating OERs using various digital methods (text, image, audio and video resources), including for high school chapters in the text books
6. Connecting to colleagues for sharing and learning - virtual forums
7. Build ICT skills for teachers
8. Access the Karnataka Open Educational Resources and Contribute to KOER

DIET Nodal Officer / MRP responsibilities

1. DIET Nodal Officer to enter Batch information on Day 1 of workshop. See this information here
2. Please email koer@karnatakaeducation.org.in for support during training. Or call Sunil (080 26654134)
3. Please read the DSERT guidelines, ensure Lab is in good condition
4. Since STF requires Internet, ensure Internet availability, with minimum 8 Mbps connection
5. For adequate practice, batch size should around 20-25 based on number of working computers. Ensure 1:1 computer:teacher ratio.
6. The training labs should have the NEW Ubuntu version 14.04 installed on them see installation process here. This has software for Kannada and Hindi interface.
7. During the workshop, the MRPs must transact the Agenda with any changes as needed. The following activities must be completed:
   1. Find out how many teachers want the Kalpavriksha Edubuntu DVDs and share this information with Sunil (080 26654134), on Day1 itself
   2. Creation of Gmail IDs for all teachers without email ids
   3. Addition of email address to the maths Hindi forum click here. You can click here, to visit the googlegroups page to add members.
   4. Practising sending and receiving emails
   5. Participants must see the website of the groups Hindi STF group.
   6. Participants must see KOER website and identify resources to be added by teams to Hindi topics in chapters 8,9,10
   7. Submission of one activity to KOER through Contribute button, or you can email koer@karnatakaeducation.org.in
   8. Updating district training details on the district pages, mail this to the forum. This includes
      1. Day wise workshop report
      2. Uploading workshop photographs on Google photos
   9. On Day 5,Participant Feedback Form and ICT Use form is to be filled by participants. This is a compulsory activity
   10. View Participant feedback
8. You can also create a mobile phone based group for district Hindi MRPs using Telegram or Whatsapp etc. The teachers can also discuss, share ideas and resources through this phone group. As the admin, you should share interesting and important information and resources with the STF Mailing groups so that Hindi teachers all over the state can get it
