Process (How to do the activity)

  1. Draw a triangle with following measures - BC = 5 cms, AC = 3 cms, AB = 7 cms (BC as the base). ‘Play’ the construction protocol navigator to understand the construction, after students have constructed on their own
    1. What kind of triangle is it?
      1. What kind of triangle is it - by sides?
      2. What kind of triangle is it - by angles?
    2. Would it be possible to draw a triangle, if AB was changed to 9 cms? Why
    3. Would it be possible to draw a triangle, if AB was changed to 8 cms? Why

Draw the altitude from vertex A to segment BC. Label the intersection as D

Measure its length. Measure ∡ADB and ∡ADC.

Measure the area of the triangle ABC
