    Finally, free milk for govt schoolkids becomes reality

Deccan Herald 31August 2013 Children in anganwadis and government schools across the State will now receive 150 ml of milk every alternate day of a week under the Ksheera Bhagya scheme, which was launched by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at Hoskote in Bangalore Rural district on Thursday. The scheme will benefit over 65 lakh students in 51,000 government schools and 39 lakh children in anganwadis. “Many children in the State are malnourished.     Ksheera Bhagya to benefit 1,46,800 children in Kolar

The Hindu 01 August 2013 Healthy children will help build a strong society, says Minister Khader U.T. Khader, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, said on Thursday that the State government’s Ksheera Bhagya project to provide milk to more than one crore students in the State is a visionary scheme as it will help maintain children’s health. “Healthy children will help build a strong society,” said Mr. Khader, who is in charge of the district.     Ksheera Bhagya to benefit over one crore children

The Hindu 01 August 2013 Less than a month after the State government launched the ambitious Anna Bhagya scheme, it rolled out another welfare scheme — the Ksheera Bhagya — on Thursday. This scheme entitles students of government and government-aided schools and children in anganwadis 150 ml of milk three times a week. The milk will be provided every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Speaking at the launch of the scheme at Hoskote near here, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said the scheme would ensure that over one crore students across the State get their share of milk. This includes 65 lakh students studying in 51,000 government and government-aided schools and 39 lakh children in 64,000 anganwadis. Click Here.

    MP to make Yoga education compulsory in schools

The Madhya Pradesh Government is planning to make Yoga education compulsory from class I to V in schools across the state. The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed the school education department to prepare course for practical and theory for Yoga education within a month. The Minister said it is important to raise master Yoga trainers who will then train teachers. Yoga education is already being imparted to students of class VI to VIII in the state. It entails teaching and reading material has been provided for introduction to Yoga, various Yogic postures or asanas, pranayama, mudras and meditation. Click Here.

ಪ್ರಜಾವಾಣಿ 29 July 2013 ಆ ದಿನ ಹಾಲು ಮಾರುವ ಬೊಮ್ಮೇನಹಳ್ಳಿಯ ಹೇಮಣ್ಣ ತಮ್ಮ ಹಳೇ ಬೈಸಿಕಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಕಿರ‌್ರನೆ ಬ್ರೇಕ್ ಹಾಕಿ ನೇರವಾಗಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದರು `ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಂಬಳ ಎಷ್ಟು?' ನನಗೇಕೋ ಈ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಕೇಳಿ ಹುಬ್ಬೇರಿತು. ಆದರೂ ಹೇಮಣ್ಣ 80 ವರ್ಷದ ಹಿರಿಯರು ಎಂಬ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೆ ತಾಳ್ಮೆಯಿಂದ ಉತ್ತರಿಸಿದೆ. ಅವರು `ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಕೊಡಲು ಅಲ್ಲ ಬಿಡಿ' ಎಂದು ನಕ್ಕು ಮಾತಿಗೆಳೆದರು.
