  1. A square is a regular quadrilateral.
  2. It has 4 equal sides and all its 4 angles are right angles.
  3. It can also be considered as a special rectangle in which two of its adjacent sides are equal.
  4. A convex quadrilateral is a square if and only if it is any one of the following:
  • a rectangle with two adjacent equal sides
  • a quadrilateral with four equal sides and four right angles
