Pick and Speak

Objectives:

To assess students’ abilities in speaking

Process:

Part1 : Conduct a simple pick and speak activity where each student picks a chit containing a word/picture and ask them to describe the object given on the chit in a few sentences.

Part 2 (only Kannada) : If one round of this is completed with most students scoring 3 or 4, let them pick chits again, this time containing a complete question to which they can think for a minute and give the answer in at least 3 sentences. Questions would be related to their day-to-day life such as:

English :

1. What do you like to do in your free time? Why?

2. What do you do every day before and after school?

3. Which is your favourite game, and how is it played?

Kannada :

• ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಿಡುವಿನ ವೇಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ (ಪ್ರೀ ಟೈಮ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ) ನೀವು ಏನು ಮಾಡಲು ಇಷ್ಟಪಡುತ್ತೀರಿ? ಏಕೆ?
• ಶಾಲೆಗೆ ಬರುವ ಮೊದಲು ಮತ್ತು ಶಾಲೆಯಿಂದ ಹೋದ ಮೇಲೆ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಏನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀರಿ?
• ನಿಮಗೆ ಇಷ್ಟವಾದ ಆಟ ಯಾವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಅದನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಆಡುವುದು/ಆಡುತ್ತೀರಾ?
• ನೀವು ಇಷ್ಟಪಡುವ ವಿಷಯ (subject) ಯಾವುದು?ಏಕೆ ?
• ನಿಮ್ಮ ಆತ್ಮೀಯಾ ಗೆಳೆಯ/ ಗೆಳತಿ ಯಾರು ? ಅವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ಯಾಕೆ ಇಷ್ಟ?
• ನಿಮ್ಮ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ?
• ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನಿಮಗೆ ಇಷ್ಟವಿದೆಯೇ? ಏಕೆ ಅಥವಾ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಏನು ಇಷ್ಟ ? ಏಕೆ
• ನಿಮಗೆ ಇಷ್ಟವಾದ ಹಬ್ಬ ಯಾವುದು ? ಅದನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತೀರಿ?ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ನೀವು ನೋಡಿದ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಯಾವುದು? ಸಿನಿಮಾದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಏನು ಇಷ್ಟವಾಯಿತು?
