Objectives of the workshop

  1. To get introduced to the community of mathematics teachers for continuous learning
  2. To develop basic competencies in the use of digital tools and processes
  3. To create resources for teaching learning using Geogebra
  4. To access and share Geogebra based lessons for Mathematics teaching (Geometry topics for class 8 and 9, first term)

10.00 – 1.00 Geogebra for mathematics teaching 1. Getting familiar with creating sketches using Geogebra

2. Creating resources with Geogebra

2. Angles

1. Participants are able to: - Open a Geogebra file and play with it - Play around with the interface - Create basic sketches using Geogebra - construction of simple geometry objects, save a Geogebra file

2. Participants are able to develop a lesson plan with Geogebra (working in groups)

3. Use the slider and input bar options in Geogebra and able to build animations

1.30 – 4.00 Geogebra for mathematics teaching Sharing of Geogebra lessons/ files

Demonstration of exemplar resources built for Geometry

Resource document for Geometry

Geogebra files, activities and worksheets developed

1. Particiants explore an exemplar resource to understand how lessons can be done using Geogebra

2. Participants will have access to resources created before and during the workshop

  4. Participation in the Telegram group and the STF mailing forum
  5. Finalizing the schedule for the second workshop
