Objectives of the block level programme

  1. Build a community of learners at the block level to share experiences, ideas and best practices
  2. Create/ share materials across schools and through KOER
  3. Pedagogic, technological engagement in science teaching learning
  • Transacting new textbooks
  • Teaching science for conceptual learning
  • Assessment that reflects understanding
  • Strengthening content knowledge for teacher

Activities proposed

  1. Teacher workshops periodically (1-2 per semester based on teacher availability) supported by online interactions and interventions in selected schools with focus on (i) strengthening teacher content knowledge and problem solving skills, (ii) engaging with different methods of teaching learning and assessments and (iii) use of educational tools for science teaching learning
  2. Strengthening science lab activities in schools and sharing of school based experiences and interventions on improving science teaching learning
  3. Events across schools - melas, talks, quizzes
  4. Reflective writing and sharing by teachers on experiences of science projects/ activities in schools
  5. 1-2 workshops planned in the first term – June and early September (subject to teacher availability and willingness).
