Objectives

  1. Basic digital literacy
  2. Familiarity with spreadsheet (LibreOffice Calc)
  3. Learn to use spreadsheet to input data collected from (M.Ed.) research
  4. Analyse the collected data and prepare reports using a test case
  5. Input, tabulate, analyse and produce reports for their M.Ed research project

Entering data and organising data

10.30 – 12.00 1. What is a computer? Introduction to spread sheet, navigating and interfaces. Cells (data element), rows (records), columns.

2. Types of data (text, numbers, date). Entering your data in spreadsheet and save / working with sample data from one study

3. Providing headings (columns)

4. Formatting rows, columns, cells, and data

5. Adjusting rows and columns. Hiding and showing columns

6. Working with alignment and text wrap. Header / Footer

7. Moving across sheet using CTRL keys
