Drawing a triangle when measures of two sides and one angle are given

Process (How to do the activity)

  1. Draw a triangle with following measures - BC = 8 cms, ∡ABC = 40, AB = 6 cms (BC as the base)

‘Play’ the construction protocol navigator to understand the construction, after students have constructed on their own

    1. What kind of triangle is it?
      1. What kind of triangle is it - by sides?
      2. What kind of triangle is it - by angles?
    2. Would it be possible to draw a triangle, if ∡ABC was changed to 110?Why

The circle drawn from point B, intersect RAY AC in a second point ‘E’. Will Triangle ABE fulfill the requirements of the construction?
