Teacher recruits must know English, computer Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Kimmane Ratnakar said on Wednesday that basic knowledge of computers and English will be made mandatory in future recruitment of schoolteachers. Speaking to mediapersons here on Wednesday, he said, “the knowledge of computers is essential in the current society. So, we expect aspirants for the posts of teacher to have it, so that the government need not appoint computer teachers separately. Besides, schoolteachers should have basic knowledge of English as it is being taught as a language from Class 1.
