Materials/ Resources needed

  • Bar Magnet,
  • Electromagnets,
  • Bulb circular coil

Prerequisites/Instructions, if any

The flow of electrons is shown. The flow of current is opposite to the direction .

The current creating the magnetic field could by the current in a wire or it could be the current created by the motion of electrons in atoms. In a permanent magnet, the electron currents in the atoms are aligned so that the net effect of all the microscopic electron currents is to make a macroscopic current which is just like the current in a solenoid. So you should think of a bar magnet as a bar shaped .

Process (How to do the activity)

Take a coil with three foils which is connected to the bulb. Moving the magnet inside circular coil. Observe that the current flowing through the circular coil and the bulb will glow. Reverse the bar magnet and move inside the circular coil then also we can see the bulb glowing. If you keep the bar magnet in stationary the bulb will not glow.
