“Reading without reflecting is like eating without digesting.” (Edmund Brurke)
Being able to READ, to connect the meanings/ideas between words and between sentences can help the learner to understand a text. READING is not merely decoding. The learner should be able to decode, but also become a meaning-maker, a text-user and a text critic. Reading occupies a very significant place in one’s life. It is considered the most effective means of learning a language, especially English. Lord Bacon, the famous essayist has rightly said, “Reading maketh a full man”.
These sessions emphasize on developing reading skills both at the proficiency level and the pedagogical level by introducing various discourses to enhance reading-skills, updating latest teaching methods, exploring and interacting with the text-book.

പദങ്ങൾക്കിടയിലും വാക്യങ്ങൾക്കിടയിലും അർത്ഥങ്ങൾ/ആശയങ്ങൾ ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിന് വായിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്നത് പഠിതാവിനെ ഒരു വാചകം മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ സഹായിക്കും. വായന എന്നത് കേവലം ഡീകോഡിംഗ് മാത്രമല്ല. പഠിതാവിന് ഡീകോഡ് ചെയ്യാൻ കഴിയണം, മാത്രമല്ല അർത്ഥനിർമ്മാതാവ്, ടെക്സ്റ്റ്-ഉപയോക്താവ്, ടെക്സ്റ്റ് നിരൂപകൻ എന്നിവയാകണം. ഒരാളുടെ ജീവിതത്തിൽ വായനയ്ക്ക് വളരെ പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട ഒരു സ്ഥാനമുണ്ട്. ഒരു ഭാഷ പഠിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള ഏറ്റവും ഫലപ്രദമായ മാർഗമായി ഇത് കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു, പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്.
