- Ask students to hold a brick
- What happens to their hand?
- What happens if it is dropped?
- What are the forces acting on it?
- Investigate similarly with a spring
- Investiate similarly with a rubber band - catapult

- Are you spending energy?
- Where is it coming from?
- Do you feel any force? Where is it acting from?
- When you do work, energy is spent. Where does the energy go (stored as potential energy)?
- What happens to the potential energy(Becomes kinetic)?
