Objectives:

  1. To help teachers immersively experience and appreciate storytelling as a pedagogy
  2. To enable teachers to access, analyze and evaluate appropriate and related resources for language teaching-learning from various repositories
  3. To create opportunities for teachers to collaboratively develop, curate, and share educational resources.
  4. To introduce teachers to FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) tools and innovative digital techniques for creating audio resources.
  5. To support teachers in building a contextual repository of multilevel, multimodal digital resources across multiple languages.

Agenda:

Day 1 10 – 10:30 AM Settling down, inaugration, registration
10:30 – 11:00 AM Introductions, sharing objectives and Expectation setting Slide Deck
11:00 – 11:30 AM Immersive demonstration followed by related activity
11:30 – 12 PM Storytelling techniques exercises with situations (improv exercises)
12:00 – 12:30 PM Go through the list and select 1st story for recording
12:30 - 1 Group formation

Try out different voice modulations for the selected story and record it individually/in pairs/small groups

1:00 – 1:45 Lunch
1:45 – 2:30 PM Configuring recording app (Recforge2) on mobile and audacity Audio recorder - PlayStore link

RecForge II - Audio Recorder

2:30 – 3 PM Teachers practice and record the selected the story
3 – 4 PM Present recorded trial story for discussion and feedback

Group wise plenary presentations of 1 recording each for feedback and discussion

4 – 4.30 PM Exploring repositories in more detail and choosing stories
Day 2 10 AM – 10:30 AM The Child's Language And The Teacher
10:30 AM – 1 PM Deciding who plays which character, script annotation, dialogues, practice

Half an hour recording slots start from 11:00 AM

1:00 – 1:45 Lunch
1.45 – 2:30 PM Teachers who finished first story recording – need to fill the simple template

- Sound/music suggestions - Technical instructions, - Creator name, ph. no.

2:30 – 3:30 PM Continue to record more stories…

Teachers in pair will practice the next story and go for recording.

3:30 – 4:30 PM Language Learning - Objectives, Challenges Myths and Principles regarding language teaching Language Learning - Objectives, Challenges Myths and Principles - slide
Day 3 10:00 AM – 11 AM Present in plenary and review

Teachers will play some of their recording to take the feedback from the other groups

11 – 1 PM Continue resource creation, documentation in template and review
1:00 – 1:45 Lunch
1:45 – 2 Energiser
2 – 3:30 PM Continue resource creation, documentation in template and review

Small edits, re-recording parts, etc

3:30 – 4:30
4 – 4:30 Wrapping up, way forward
