Visual programming with Scratch: Animating Stories & Exploring Math
Camp Objectives
- Develop logical thinking and understanding of sequences and problem solving skill by structuring animations.
- Integrate Math and Language skills into the storytelling framework using Scratch programming.
- Encourage storytelling, vocabulary, and sentence formation using interactive animations story board and dialogues.
- Enable students to express ideas through animations and interactive stories while building foundational coding skills.
- Teach students how to create a storyboard by using audio, text, and animation effectively.
- Encourage students teamwork, communication, and confidence by allowing students to create, present, and refine their Scratch projects.

11.30 AM to 12.30 PM | Basic ICT familiarity exercises -2 (Keyboard) | To help students get comfortable with the system
(Typing will help them learn the key pattern of the keyboard with their fingers) |

3.00 PM to 4.00 PM | Making students groups and selecting story | Based on the students' ICT level and their participation throughout the days,
pairs will be formed to work together.

Students will create their folders on the computer to keep all their work for the next four days. | |
10.40 AM to 11.40 AM | Explore the Scratch interface and basic functionalities | * Sprite (the object), coding area, output screen, and background images.
* Blocks, sprites, move, forward, back, turn, and the stage for animation creation. |

11.40 AM to 12.40 PM | Hands-on activity: Animate a sprite
with movement, sound, and basic interactions. |
* Move the sprite with some text and sound, and change it to another sprite.

create dialogues for their animated stories. |
* Discuss the story with peers, finalize the story creation, and divide tasks among themselves.
* Students will write the images and dialogues in pairs based on listening and visualization. (The ITFC team will assist in the finalization.) |
Get few A4 Sheets with Pencils and eraser. |
3.45 PM to 4.00 PM | Recap the session and assign homework – students have to draw images for their story. | ||

* Playing our exemplar storyboard to help them get ideas about adding audio to their storyboard. * Helping students practice dialogues and record them. |

2.00 PM to 4.00PM | Creating Story board- Part 3 | * Demonstrating how to add audio to the storyboard and sequence it.
* Students start adding recorded audio files to the story scenes. |
