Materials required:

  1. Scissors
  2. Instrumental box
  3. Papers
  4. Gum/Glue

Instructions for making Cube:

  1. Take a piece of paper (A4 sheet)
  2. In the centre of your paper, draw a long rectangle and divide it up into four 2 inch squares.
  3. Draw another square to the right of the second square from the top.
  4. Draw another square to the left of the second square from the top.
  5. After that you can see a cross with six equal sized squares and the longest part should be closest to you.
  6. With scissors, cut along the outside edges of the shape
  7. Fold the paper-Follow along the inside lines, and fold the paper
  8. Study the properties of a cube.

Developmental Questions:

  1. What is a cube ?
  2. How many sides does a cube have ?
  3. Are all sides the same ?
  4. Point to its vertices. How many vertices does a square have ?
  5. Point to its edges and faces. How many are there ?
  6. What is the shape of each of its face ? So how many squares are there in a cube ?
  7. What are the properties of a cube ?

Application Question :

  1. List objects similar to a cube from your surroundings ?
