Additional information
Angiosperm Evolution - This webpage discusses how flowers probably began as a series of modified leaves spiralled around the stem and co-evolved with their pollinators. It has images related to evolution of flowers including a fossilized plant Archaefructus (“ancient fruit”) has been interpreted as the first flowering plant, with carpels and stamens spread out along the stem, which dates back to the early Cretaceous, 125 million years ago.
Useful websites
Pollination: it's vital to life on Earth, but largely unseen by the human eye. Filmmaker Louie Schwartzberg shows us the intricate world of pollen and pollinators with gorgeous high-speed images from his film "Wings of Life," inspired by the vanishing of one of nature's primary pollinators, the honeybee.
This video discusses sexual reproduction in plants: labelling different parts of a flower, pollination by 'wind and water' and 'pollinators', fertilization, formation of an endosperm, and seed dispersal
