FIRST WORKSHOP

First Day

DHUBRI-ASSAM

The 1st day ICT Training Programme started at 10.00 am with a formal inauguration programme leaded by Ranjini Madame of ITfC and Triksha Madame of UNICEF. Both the teachers and the trainers introduced each other to have a familiar and more interactive training session ahead. Besides, the trainer discussed the 5 days agendas throughly and sought our feedback on that however we have given our consensus to go with the existing format.

Finalizing the agendas and other perspectives we went for Tea and then, started the core training session with the introduction of Free and Open Source Software and Ubuntu. Although, Ubuntu, the name was not new for us however the insights were very interesting and really felt the need of Ubuntu and then Edubuntu in our personal and professional life. We can really impart the free and open source softwares in our school and can build an effective teaching learning system.

Then we took our lunch and started to learn how to install Ubuntu software in our personal and school computers. In the training session itself we have installed the software in the lab computers and explored various aspects Ubuntu and its pros and cons. ITfC’s Anil helped us while installing the software and also assisted whenever required.

As the sun moved towards west and we reached the final session of the 1st days training programme taking a cup of tea. Trainer Rakesh and Deepu summarized the whole days programme and we have shared our doubts and concerns of the days learning. They were very optimistic and mild in their responses.

To conclude we note that the trainers are very resourceful and optimistic. Although it was the first day however they become our friends and again make it true that Learning becomes easy when your teacher become friend. Hope the zeal continues and we finish our training programme with prosperity and knowledge.

We the teachers of Dhubri district thanks all the stakeholders of this training programme.

Second Day

The 2nd day ICT Training Programme started at 10.00 am. Both the teachers and the trainers introduced each other to have a familiar and more interactive training session ahead.

We learned about typing different local languages by using IBus applications and adding different languages.

Also we got the knowledge of editing a text document, basic formating pages, font setup, save with password, export documents from one format to another formats like .odt to .pdf, doc etc.. fonts setting in libre office, Extension installation and installing different versions.

Then we had lunch. After lunch we started the session on Installing fonts, about unicode and non unicode fonts.

Then we had the tea break and after that we started the session on software center, Installing applications through different methods, example debian, .sh files.

Finally we proceeded with the simple yet meaningful session on Sending emails to the forum.

To conclude we note that the trainers are very resourceful and optimistic. Although it was the Second day however they become our friends and again make it true that Learning becomes easy when your teacher become friend. Hope the zeal continues and we finish our training programme with prosperity and knowledge.

Third Day

The third day of the training started on 10 AM. All the teachers arrived at time along with the ICT Trainers. The class started with a quick recap on the previous day’s learning.

The ICT Trainer Mr. Deepu explained the utility of spreadsheet program and a IT Teacher was requested to take a demo class session on spreadsheet program. He helped all the teachers with a proper demonstration of Libre office calc.

Then there was a small tea break of 10 minutes.After the tea break session then the trainer explained the concept of Internet and there was a session on internet browsing. On this session the various utility and concept of web browser along with the history of web browser was discussed.There was a practice session of few minutes was included for the practice of various browser functions.

After this session all the teachers went for the lunch break.

After lunch there was a session on email and downloading. The utility and various functions of email and use of various plugins and add ons was discussed in this session.

Then their was a short tea break

The last session covered the application of filter and labels in email.

The trainers impressed all the teachers with their friendly and cooperative behaviour. Although it was the third day of the training but we always felt enthusiastic to learn new things.

We all the teachers of Dhemaji district thanks the stakeholders of this training program.

Fourth Day

First of all, we gratefully acknowledge the assistance, co-operation, guidance provided by the Assam Engineering Institute in the course of the program. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Mrs. Titiksha Raj Kashyap, State Consultant, RMSA,Assam for her sincere and needful co-operation in all spheres of the program. We would also like to thanks the Resource person Mr Deepu Narayan R,Mr. Rakesh Gundari & Mr. Anil Vibhuthe for their valuable session.

The fourth day training was started around 10 AM at Assam Engineering Institute, Chandmari. All the Vocational Teachers leave the Hotel around 9.00 AM and reached at AEI at sharp 9.45 AM by bus. The Session started with a quick recap on the 3rd day’s session. In the first Session The ICT Trainer Mr. Deepu Narayan Explained the different form of copy rights, then through terminal how to edit sources list, how to find system details, how to install skyp, Geogebra and add ppa. Then in the Second Session started with Disk Analyzer, use of fslint to remove junk files, remove ppa and how to remove software completely through terminal, remove lock, finding ppa for Geogebra, installing ffmulti converter through terminal. Third session started with installing libreOffice help in English, the software update, use of synaptic package Manager, then a little recap on day 4 sessions. In the final session the trainer explained the internal concept of E-mail i.e. what are headers are included in an E-mail message and what the local IP, Private IP is & how to find them. Then there was a demonstration of creating Google group and adding members to the group. We all the Vocational Teachers of Cachar District thank the Resource Persons of the program.

Fifth Day

The 5th day of the training started around 10 AM. The class started with re-installation of Ubuntu as some PCs are not working properly. Then the ICT trainer Mr. Rakesh showed the steps for uninstallation of Ubuntu. Then he taught us how to open different applications from terminal.

Then the ICT trainer Mr. Deepu Narayan showed us different System tools such as changing the appearance of the desktop, creation of Hotspots, Bluetooth settings, Mouse settings etc.

Then there was a small tea break for 5 minutes. After the break the second session started with preparation of agenda for the next workshop. All the teachers suggested some topics for the next workshop. Then Mr. Rakesh explained about Recording the desktop using the RecordMyDesktop.

In the last session all the teachers give their feedbacks about the workshop and share their views.

The Resource persons were very much energetic and friendly. We have learned a lot from them. We all the Vocational Teachers from Jorhat District thanks the Resource Persons of the program.

SECOND WORKSHOP

First Day

The 1st day of the training started around 10 AM. The class started with introduction and discussion of agenda for the second workshop. Then ICT trainer Mr Anil taught us how to make bootable pen drive from DVD and iso File. After that we learn about K3B CD/DVD burning tool.

Then there was a small tea break for 5 minutes. After the break we have learned about Remastersys from Mr Rakesh. With the help of Remastersys we have created customized iso image and backup of Edubuntu installation.

We took our lunch at 2:45 pm. After lunch we have a session on handling grub problems using live CD/DVD and make partition of the drive using Gparted Partition Editor.

Then we have a small tea break of 5 min. After the break we practice whatever we learn today.

We have successfully completed the fist day of our training. We the vocational teachers of Jorhat District Thanks all the Resource Person of the training programme.

Second Day

In the first Session The Resorce person Mr. Anil Kumar Vibhute touhgt us how to add new user with practical work . The Second Session started with FreeMind,how open file, create plan, daywise report. Third session started with File sharing with samba, installing samba,ssh,FTP,SFTP,phyton,HTTP. In the Final Session changing user account, adding language packages,password chang through Terminal,Introduction of Execuiting file and a little about simulation in PhET. We all the Vocational Teachers of Cachar District thank the Resource Persons of the program.

Third Day

The third day of the training started with ICT trainer Mr Deepu Narayan showing us different file formats and file extensions of EDUBUNTU OS. We learnt about executable file format like .jar, .deb, .sh, .run, and .bin. We also learnt how to execute these files with the help of command prompt.

Then after having tea break for 5 minutes we have practised ‘Gedit’ to run a set of commands. We also learnt about shell scripting for various operations like install, update, remove any application by executing a single .sh file.

After that we have learned to configure basic Network, to share files using SAMBA, FTP, PYTHON, SSH commands. Rakesh Gundari sir also taught us how to manually change IP address of a system.

After lunch we have a session on Terminal commands like install, update, upgrade, dist upgrade, do release upgrade etc to manipulate various Linux application software.

After tea break Deepu sir taught us about file permission and HTOP to stop running processes .

We have successfully completed the third day of our training. We the vocational teachers of Kadong High School, Barpeta. We would like to thank the Resource Persons of the workshop.

The 3rd day of the training started at around 10 AM. The class started with Mr. Deepu Narayan Sir of ITfC showing us the different file format and file extensions of LINUX OS (EDUBUNTU). i.e., The file extensions viz. .jar, .deb, .sh, .run and .bin . I also learned the installation of these file types using both Linux Terminal(Command Prompt) and GUI environment.

After Tea break, I have learned about ‘gedit’ and how to do shell scripting to perform various operations like install, update, remove, and purge simultaneously in one go.

Before Lunch time, I have learned about Network configuration. Mr. Rakesh Gunderi Sir of ITfC showed us how to change IP address manually. He also showed us different mathods of file sharing. I.e, File sharing using SAMBA, Python, SSH, and FTP.

After Lunch time, I have learned about various important Terminal Commands. Which includes the commands like install, update, upgrade, dist upgrade, do release upgrade, etc mainly used for Linux application softwares and Operating Systems.

After that Mr. Deepu Narayan Sir showed us about File permissions in Linux OS. And also teaches us how to kill running processes using HTOP.


The Resource persons were very energetic and friendly . I have learned a lot from them. I thank the Resource Persons and Madam Titiksha RajKasyap, State Consultant, RMSA for their kind support and guidance.

Fourth Day

The 4th Day training stared with the recap of all the topics covered on preveious day. Mr. Deepu Narayan cleared our doubts about yesterdays learning and proceeded towards to days agendas. He has explored various aspects of creating Installation media’s , especially the bootable disk and pen drive.

Then after taking our first tea break for 10 minutes we have learned and installed the amazing application Thunderbird and the configuration of Thunderbird with other Email accounts. Subsequently, Mailmerge, Add-ons. Etc.

The clock signalled 1.30 pm and we headed for Lunch. Taking our lunch we started to practice about Team Viewer and Remote Desktop Application. Here, we came to know that how we can access different systems from a different location and can build an effective channel and understanding. Along with Mr. Narayan Mr. Rakesh B Gunderi highlighted on the important aspects.

Fourth days training was at the bank of afternoon and we took our final break and stated to practise thoroughly about all the things that we have learned throughout the Day. We enjoyed a lot while practising and every time we have encountered a new thing. Mr. Anil helped us with our systems and findings.

We the teachers of Dhubri district offer our sincere gratitude to all the trainers would expect a future training programme with this ITfC resource persons.

Fifth Day

I would like to thank all the trainers for their efforts and co operation to make the program successful. The day started early in the morning when all the teachers arrived at training hall.the first activity was a demo session on “how to make bootable pendrive “, which was taken by miss urmimala mahanta. The next session covered the use of unet booting . Then there was a another demo session taken by miss tulika bora on the topic “ user account creation and installation of language package. Then there was a short tea break. Then after that mr. Deepu explained the topic “how to use ubuntu community help “.AFTER This the next session covered the use of xchat utility, then after compilation of this , the next session covered the use of advanced google search with customized filter. The utility of using ubuntu help by googlubuntu.com was explained with some live examples. Then after this there was lunch break. After finishing the lunch break mr.Anil took a session on how to utilize the record session tool and video editing tool. After this session there was a tea break. The post tea break session included the grub editing and its various utility which was nicely explained by mr.Rakesh. After this there was a quick review session on ubuntu commands. The workshop ended successfully at 4 pm after inclusion of an official photo session. It was a great workshop for all of us where we got the updated knowledge of ubuntu and various oss.we hope to get involved in this kind of workshop in near future again and again.
